Modeling strain-induced dual-phase transformation in semicrystalline polylactide

چکیده

Polylactic acid or polylactide (PLA) can form amorphous, semicrystalline, highly crystalline structure. In this paper, we provide a model for semicrystalline PLA under strain-induced dual-phase transformation, between mesomorphization and crystallization. the proposed constitutive model, use an internal state variable approach by considering initial microstructure, intermolecular features, preferred network orientation-induced anisotropy. The effective contribution of newly created phases is considered in both elastic-viscoplastic resistance viscohyperelastic using micro–macro transition approach. We find good agreement experimental data terms progressive evolution mesomorphic/crystalline along with stress–strain behavior up to very large strains over wide range crystallinities. relationship crystallinity, molecular ordering, phases, mechanical response discussed.

Modeling of Phase Transformation in Induction Hardening

Mechanical properties of machined components are controlled by inducing phase transformations in the outer layer of the materials. Induction hardening is one such manufacturing process where the surface hardness is enhanced while the core is retained with the original structure and characteristics. In this study, a mathematical model had been developed to predict the hardness and the volume fra...

EFFECT OF SILICON CONTENT ON THE STRAIN HARDENING OF DUAL-PHASE STEELS

Abstract: In the current work, the strain hardening behavior of dual-phase steels with different silicon content (0.34- 2.26 Wt. %) was examined using the modified Crussard-Jaoul analysis. It was shown that these dual-phase steels deform in two stages over a uniform strain range. Each stage exhibited a different strain hardening exponent varying with silicon content. At the first stage, work...

Effect of nonlinear and noncollinear transformation strain pathways in phase-field modeling of nucleation and growth during martensite transformation

The phase-field microelasticity theory has exhibited great capacities in studying elasticity and its effects on microstructure evolution due to various structural and chemical non-uniformities (impurities and defects) in solids. However, the usually adopted linear and/ or collinear coupling between eigen transformation strain tensors and order parameters in phase-field microelasticity have excl...
